Veronica Cummer has been a witch for 20 years, more if you count growing up on a farm in rural Iowa, running wild in the woods, conjuring up storms, and turning pig's teeth into magickal talismans. After moving to Minnesota, she was a staff writer and artist for several years for the now-retired Twin Cities magazine, Pagan Ink. Her work has more recently appeared in NewWitch, The Beltane Papers, The Crooked Path Journal, and the anthologies, "Talking About the Elephant-An Anthology of Neopagan Perspectives on Cultural Appropriation," (Megalithica)and "Datura" (Scarlet Imprint 2010). "Sorgitzak-Old Forest Craft" was her first book in 2008, followed a year later by "Masks of the Muse" in 2009. Just released is "To Fly By Night-The Craft of the Hedgewitch," a collection which she edited. Three pieces written by her also appear in the book, plus more artwork. A follow-up book to "Sorgitzak" is now in the works with a planned release date sometime in 2011. She also teaches classes at and writes short articles for Eye of Horus, a local pagan/occult store. She has been one of the Guests of Honor at Sacred Harvest Festival in Southern Minnesota two years in a row and also volunteers to do workshops and rituals at the Twin Cities Pagan Pride. Along with traditional European and British witchcraft, her interests extend to Haitian voudoun and the religion and culture of the Lakota. Besides non-fiction, she also writes fantasy and erotic fiction, poetry, does pen-and-ink drawing and dabbles in pottery. After working on nonfiction for a few years now, she'd love to sell a first fantasy novel if she ever finds the time to finish any of those works-in-progress hiding in sundry folders and notebooks. She has been a priestess of the Old Forest Craft for over 14 years and has a close association with the Fey, particularly the spirits of Air and Dawn, the whole bright and tricksy tribe of them. Her hobbies include antiques, cooking, collecting old rhinestone jewelry, and finding that perfect tea or coffeehouse where strange things can still happen and most often do.
