eh...maybe it was the big DENNIS LEHANE written all over the cover and mentioned in reviews and highlights...but i just wasn't overly impressed with Visitation Street; it felt like a New York Mystic River. I do think Pochoda does a good job of creating a sense of place...you could feel the claustrop...
