Who knows why, but I wasn’t crazy about this book either. I thought I would love it, but it seemed to be a very personal account of a teacher’s last year, focusing especially on her encounter with one special student who led the class in a love for the books of Leo Lionni.

What an interesting exploration of the emotional dynamics of 4-year-olds. This book addresses my biggest fear about sending my daughter to public school (the mean popular kids), and gives me hope that it doesn't have to be that way. Unfortunately, I think it takes a saint of a teacher like Gussin Pa...
