This was one of those captive/dubious consent type of books. Both characters were really messed up and there was a lot of sexual abuse/rape mentioned. I had a bit of a hard time reconciling the Hunter we get at the beginning to the Hunter of the rest of the book. It's like he turned into this gent...
My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com. This book is a really intriguing, dark and psychological story. It is a shorter audio than most of the books I listen to at just under six hours. But, it is still full of story. I had read this book before it was avail...
Whewwwwwboy, this was dark and messed up. And I can't believe I enjoyed it as much as I did, but I couldn't put it down. Will definitely check out more by this author.
This book definitely isn't for everyone, but it was what I need at the time that I read it. I really liked it. The male lead doesn't outright rape the female lead, but it's pretty much like he would if she would go along with it. This poor chick just can't catch a break anywhere, and actually bei...

At 20 years old, she finally had enough living with her paranoid mother and not being allowed out of her house. She takes off to see Niagra Falls (a book about the Falls got her through her childhoo...

Pretty gritty and definitely dark. I liked it, but wished it was a bit longer. Though, the author hits all the necessary points to bring the reader through the story, I just wanted more. I would have liked it more had it been longer.
3.5 stars mostly because The idea was great the background story of the characters to but it wasn't edgy enough, it didn't make me feel my stomach turning like other captive books I read in the past .
Poetic, beautiful and raw, my heart was captured by this story! This is a very well-written but short book. Evie and Hunter came from sadness to somehow find and hold on to their fragile peace. I am conflicted as to whether I wanted more characterization and drama or if I had got it making the book l...
