The narrator could be amusing, but the story itself was pretty meh. Maybe I would have liked it more if I hadn't been listening to it, but the story just seemed to drag on. I may count it as "A book with a terrible cover" for the Summer Book Bingo, though, because the actual cover of my library o...

I should be rating this one higher than I am; at least 4.5 stars. I picked it up with the intention of just reading a page or two and suddenly two hours passed. I couldn't stop reading it. But when I finished I just didn't feel that 4.5 star feeling. We can blame it on a woeful job on the part ...

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom. Then Bernadette disappe...

I'm hitting another block when trying to talk about the last few books I've read, because here's another batch of very overdue takes on some good books (and one not). --- The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion This was charming, witty, and had plenty of heart -- even without the romance, which just ...

I can't do any better than the reviews already here, so let's just say that I am happier, and I feel smarter than when I started this book. I listened to the audio version and the person who performs this book does a spectacular job! This book is just so good that all I want to do is gush.

"The truth is complicated. There's no way one person can ever know everything about another person." I think you either have to be odd or enjoy reading about an odd person to really like this book. I am a bit odd myself so I ended up liking this overall. The further along you read in this book the ...

When you hover over 2 stars it says: "it was OK". And it was.

This is a satirical epistolary novel about a upper class family's issues prepping for a trip to Antarctica, that results in the mother, Bernadette, going missing. Overall I thought this book was very funny and really enjoyed how the story was told. That being said I did have some issues. While the ...

Beware: This book is utter chaos. After a summer of little reading joy, October certainly seems to make up for it with some cracking reads. I'm not usually keen to pick bestsellers because they don't often live up to expectations, but this one worked for me. Where's You Go, Bernadette? is the st...
