Aislinn is thrown into a world she knows about, but wishes she didn't. There isn't a lot of big downs in this book, but the character development is pretty good. Some characters give you warm fuzzies while others are easy to be afraid of. The Winter Queen is one of the scary ones. She is so full ...
Aislinn is a mortal gifted with the Sight. She can see Fairies. The invisible denizens of the fairy courts stalk humanity, playing tricks, playing games sometimes cruelly and maliciously. They’re not to be trusted, she’s always been told by her Sighted grandmother. Not to be trusted and always to be...
It tells the story of faeries in a traditional sense - that they aren't part of our world and humans don't belong in them. It followed Tolkien's definition of what faeries are pretty well - they aren't necessarily evil and out do to harm, but they aren't human and they don't mix well in our world.T...
I was so skeptical when I started this series, seriously Wicked Lovely sat on my TBR list for MONTHS... I had heard mixed reviews about the WL series, everything from mind blowingly amazing to horrifically awful. Sadly, it was just 'meh' for me.On one hand the plot was fabstastic, the book as a whol...
Aislinn has the Sight, like her mother before her and her mother's mother. She sees what other 'normal' mortals do not - the fey. To survive, she must follow the rules: don't stare, don't speak and do not attract their attention. Basically, to pretend they do not exist but how do you do that when ...
This book was one of those books I picked up from the library just because I had read good reviews of it from the other book blogs. I liked the book, but it wasn't one of those books that "changed" my life. I feel like that the beginning of the book went on very slowly and then at the end everything...
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised - I fell right into the story and really enjoyed it! I love the triangle - Team Seth! and waited to see how Ms. Marr was going to make things work for Aislinn AND Donia. Very well-written and an interesting world Ms. Marr has create...
I thought the book was ok, but it stayed at ok. It was not bad, not great, well-written with a gripping story that made me go on. But afterwards it made me thinking, what if it would have been even better in English? Sometimes they just seems to simplify things in translations when it comes to child...
What can I say? Pure book crack, just like Twilight. As I was reading it...all I could do was compare it to Twilight over and over again. That being said...I did still like Twilight better. Although I am glad the main female character had a backbone in this case :) Also, with this story you'll (prob...
This was my first faerie book and I was very pleased. It was confusing a little bit because I didn't know anything about faeries before reading this so I didn't understand some of the terms. But it was a very enjoyable read and I would recommend it.
