This is a tragedy. So sad especially because it's true. They just wanted to be left alone. It's interesting for historical non-fiction IMO (I'm usually more of a fiction reader). It's first-hand accounts from people who were there.

Very good story of the near extinction of Native American Indians in the late 1800s. Extremely sad, and makes you wonder what hope there is for the human race in general when you read this type of story. Really made me think about the plight of others. Each chapter tells part of the story, usually f...

A sweeping work of history, which I would have enjoyed even more if I were better with names. So this is how the United States became the country that it is: the violently racist twins genocide & slavery. This book deals with the former of the pair. This book may not be a pleasant one--the subject matter is grim, depressing, disturbing, upsetting. I was so horrified by some accounts in it. I ...

Unlike Fox News, this book doesn't claim to be "Fair and Balanced", though it still manages to come closer to that mark than Fox does. This isn't a book intended to be fair or show the big picture of the American political climate or whatever, this is a book intended to give voices to those who were...

Fair warning, there may be some political views in this review which should not be surprising being that this book is the history of a government slaughtering a native people because they were simply in the way. This book is a comprehensive history of the Native American from the moment when the whit...
