Welp, wasn't planning on reading her, now I know I never will. Thanks for the heads up.

By the way, if they want courtesy, maybe they should talk to their publishers about not publishing inaccurate information or at least giving the authors a heads up? That seems to be the only rudeness I see!

The way I see it, you didn't do anything wrong. You're a fan of the author, keeping tabs on her new releases, because that's what fans often do. The leak was not your fault, and you shouldn't be blamed for it.

Sheesh. Unless you were the absolute very first person to leak it, they really should be going after the publisher, amazon, or wherever it first appeared. Not like you had a private conversation with the author and leaked that.

She really should be going after the source of the leak not the people who spread it down the line. It's not like you made it up yourself. In any case, people blogging information about releases is a good thing even if its wrong. If it's wrong that means there will be an additional posting with the correct information, which means more "air time", which means more people will be talking about you. As Oscar Wilde is attributed to saying "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about." So if people are talking about her books that can only be a good thing. Now unfortunately people will be talking about her behavior and soon they won't be talking about her at all.

For real. Not sure that targeting anyone with your anger is a good idea; but, if she feels she must then it should be at the person who first leaked it. Maybe she's more upset at Tez because the real culprit has too small a following to matter or too large a following to safely attack.

Wouldn't the source of the leak be her publisher? I could see why she wouldn't want to go after them. It probably seemed safer to go after someone less directly connected to her paycheck.

Good Point

Of course it was the publisher, but no author wants to piss off their publisher, so words like "mistake", "leaked", and "no one's fault" were used. Still, I wonder if the publisher was sent a "please check with the author first before putting stuff on your website" note, or if only I received that.
