Aww I'm so annoyed for you. I know how much you were looking forward to reading this. *hugs*

Thanks. I tried and tried and tried but it just would not stick. I think I need to go back to my 50 page DNF rule.

Yeah, a DNF at 75% is such a demoralising thing. I remember when I read The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, in January, for over 200 pages, finally gave up and nearly smashed my kindle lol!

Ooo, don't smash the innocent Kindle!

Well, I wish you luck with it. The other reviews over at GR and Amazon are all pretty good so it could be that it was just the wrong book for my tired brain.

Your review made me laugh...so there's that. :)
(Sorry it wasn't for you.)

Glad you can laugh at my misery and disappointment ;)

Not unless it happened in the last 25% and, if so, I'm going to be really pissed at myself!

After reading your review, I'm kinda glad they approved me after archiving it. I think I had a lucky escape. :)
Sucks for you though. Hope your next read is better.

That's annoying. I was bummed at the time but now I guess it was a good thing.

That is annoying! I think that might frustrate me more than those "I'd love you to consider reviewing my fabulous book that has received a million 5 star reviews, click this link to buy!".

This...this is a new one. I've read oodles of reviews of this genre and this is a first for Monster Did Not Show Up. I mean, making an appearance isn't the same thing as actually being in the book. And only turning up the the last 25% is a letdown. Sad.

Yeah, it was not at all what I was hoping to read. Ah well. I still may go back and read book 1 and see if any monsters become actual characters. I did enjoy the humor.
