This is great, B&B. I think giving support to authors who "get it" is wonderful. I hate to say it, but I'm so wary of SPA's that I rarely give them a shot anymore. I always check to see who the publisher is, and if I don't recognize the publisher, then I google them and read their "about us" page. If I do give an SPA a shot, then I always check their 1 & 2 star ratings on Amie and GR to see if they have responded. I also check to see if any of my friends have read their book.

It's sad but this is what it's come to. I have so many books that I don't have to ever buy a new one and would probably have enough to read for the rest of my days but when I do get an urge to buy something it's going to be a book by an author I want to support. I can get most anything else from paperbackswap or the library. I just felt the need to do what I can to protest this silly war between readers and some authors..
It really is sad. And I think voting with our dollars is the best way to counteract this nonsense. The worst thing for a BBA is silence and no sales from readers. I think that's the only language they understand. Let them fade into obscurity where they belong.

Yeah, I no longer accept review requests because reading was no longer fun. I'm going to read for me, me, me too,. I fell into the "free book" for a review trap for awhile and it burned me out.
And I just wanted to add that it's also a way to get back to doing what you love, reading and reviewing, because you know you can do it in safe space.

Thank you. I can't remember what your tastes are, but that one is, well... it's disturbing. Even if you hate it, thanks for the support. :)
