Thanks for the info. Especially about the TV show. My parents might be interested, so I'll pass that info along.

You can get the DVDs too in the US .
Niiiice! I'm checking out Netflix, since they tend to watch, not buy. Oooh, oh, it's on there. Thanks again!

I love the show! I've watched at least two seasons on Netflix and will be watching more. I wasn't sure about trying the books as I've heard both good and bad stuff. Sounds like you thought it was not as bad as I've heard; think I'll give it a shot.

Sounds really interesting, both the book and the TV series!

I like the books better.

I never read the books but I've been watching the show since its first season and loving it. Of course, I'm a Canadian. It started going sour the last season though, somehow darker. As if they didn't expect to last that long and are now scrambling to fill the episodes with stories.

My dad's been buying the DVDs as the seasons are coming out in USA and he's noticed it dropped in the last season he bought. No clue the number.

I think, and this is coming from memory of an US article about the series when Ovation started showing it, I think it was supposed to be canceled but got saved by another network at the last minute or something.

Okay just checked, CBC picked it up after Rogers media wasn't going to renew it.

Ah. That might explain it. I haven't got that far yet, so I can't say.
