This book was fantastic. It is told through the main protagonist's journal entries; we never find out his name. He's a naval officer who was just returning home to Texas from visiting his parents in Arkansas when the zombie apocalypse hits. The story follows him as he watches news coverage of wha...

Opening Line: "January 1st 0358 hrs. Happy New Year to me" Wow, this was a surprise! Before I begin I should tell you that I’ve never read a Zombie book in my life and I’m not a fan of the genre (although I did think Shawn Of The Dead was hilarious.) Loved it. Great zombie story. I have to read the next one to see if it explains why zombies are speeding up and retaining some ingrained memories!

First person account, journal style, of survivors of an outbreak that spread from China to the U.S. Not nearly enough zombie action and the ending left you hanging.

If I could give this book negative stars, I would. It's been a long time since a book has made me as angry as this one did. I don't think I'm the overly critical sort. I have expectations, and I want them to be met, but I think that I'm willing to compromise. If a book isn't the best written but has...
