I liked this a lot more than I expected to. I had read the author’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy about 20 years ago and, while I remember finding it mildly amusing and clever at times, I also found it too unrealistically silly to take seriously and didn’t much care for it. My memory of that bo...

A mostly interesting story but I found it not as funny as expected (or maybe the humor just was not my cup of tea). I will probably have to read the next in this series as this one really did not have a satisfying ending...

I have to admit that I love the Dirk Gently novels much more than the Hitchhikers Guide ones. The cleverness and silliness of them never fails to bring a smile to my face.

My second time through Dirk Gently and it was just as fun, quirky, and smart as I remembered. What I hadn't remembered was the genuine sense of danger and intrigue Adams generates. I loved the combination of humor and suspense. And, like Adams' mother, I liked the bit about the horse.

I loved this book when I was young. Now that I'm much older I not only loved this book, but actually thought it was better than when I originally read it. Douglas Adams launches all sorts of scathing attacks on the silly stuff in society as ably as he creates a weird and wacky story.A true legend of...
