ok writing but really boring plots. I have trouble putting the hero's personality and behaviors together. the heroine is boring.

This is a book that would probably not get published today because of the un-PC content. There is a (in my opinion) fairly violent rape scene, because the heroine was being flirty and the hero didn't like it, and because he thinks she is a spy for her native French countrymen, which are his enemies....
