I'd only intended to listen to a couple of hours tonight, and then finish it tomorrow evening, but, obviously that didn't happen. And this is the point where I state that while this book is very good on its own, Richard Armitage's excellent narration makes it all the better.

Well, the third week really hit my bingo experience out of the ballpark this year -- and not only because it finished with my first completed bingo; that was actually just the icing on the cake. But it included no less than three absolutely knock-out fabulous books, plus a fourth that was almost as...

This is the weakest of any of the books by Ellis that I've read so far. The mystery made very little sense and the characters were pretty universally behaving like idiots (except for Cat). The Nikki Galena books are not nearly as good as the Jackman & Evans books - but they were her starting plac...

As I previously mentioned, I've been obsessively listening to these audiobooks, narrated by Richard Armitage. I've listened to the first four in the series in a couple of weeks, which is light speed for me. I finished The Guilty Ones yesterday, which is last available at this point. The audiobook ...

I've listened to three of these audiobooks in about a week. I just started the fourth one, and then I'll be caught up until the release of the 5th in October. Richard Armitage is a god among men.

This one...got to me. It had a very heart breaking ending. And the thing is, I'd totally worked out what most of the shocking twists were going to be, and when it ended in pretty much the only way it could have, I still felt sucker punched. I know I'm being pretty vague, but I don't think I can de...

"Crime On The Fens" is an original story with some strong characters marred by boiler-plate text. The was lots to like about "Crime On The Fens": the police officers were a diverse and believable set of people, the story moves quickly, the plot is full of twists and turns, the dialogue is good a...

This is, I believe, Ms. Ellis' first published book, though its original title was Mask Wars. This book introduces us to DI Nikki Galena and DS Joseph Easter. DI Galena is a detective who not only had a young woman die in her arms, but whose daughter is in a persistent vegetative state due to a dr...

... in the order in which they're appearing on my card (not the order in which they've read them). Soooo ... in this year's twist on RL doing its best trying to throw a spanner in the works of Halloween Bingo fun, I've been spending the better part of the month either sitting around in conference ...

I think if you'd seen any of my previous updates, then you'd know I was going to rate this book highly. I listened to the Audible Studios production which featured Richard Armitage as narrator. I've said it before about other audiobooks he's narrated, but he's an absolutely fantastic narrator. He ...
