We think we know the characters of Christmas, but, what if we could listen in as Mary retells what it was like to become the mother of Jesus? Of course, knowing Mary's thoughts beyond what's recorded in the Bible is pure speculation, but if you're a parent, especially if you're a mother who loved your child, then perhaps you can come along and explore what Mary may have been thinking. In this short story (approximately 20,000 words), Mary is being visited by Luke, the physician and author of two books in the New Testament. In the first century culture, who else but a physician would Mary feel comfortable telling about the angel's announcement to her, the journey to Bethlehem, and the birth of Jesus in a stable? Let Mary remind you of how risky it was to be an unwed pregnant maiden when her "intended" is reluctant to believe she has not betrayed the trust he had in her purity. "Mary's Journey Back to Bethlehem" is the softcover and slightly expanded version of the short story entitled "Mary, Meet Dr. Luke" which previously was only available as an eBook or within the softcover/eBook entitled "Christmas Musings.")
