I liked this more than the first book in this series (Silent Blade). For the length, I thought this was well paced. Claire and Venturo are both fairly likable. My only issue is I would have liked more at the end. It felt rushed. Interesting world. Meli and Celino make an appearance in this one.
This was a hard book to rate because the writing is very divergent in the first part versus the last. Very crisp and rather mechanical at the beginning and more descriptive and lush in the last half. I understand why though. Claire goes from being in a gray world in which she is a lethal asset, to l...
A huge improvement on the first novella of the series. Claire is much more damage female lead but she is interesting to read all the same. While the romance does sound cliché I and happy to report that Ilona and Gordon breathe new life into old conventions.I feel like I need to shout it out from the...
4/5; 4 stars; A-The Kinsmen universe is completely different from the Kate Daniels world and the Edge...demonstrating once again that Ilona Andrews is talented writing team. I enjoyed the sci-fi feel in this novella. The characters were interesting, as was the worldbuilding.
A bit more cyberpunk than the first book. But the main focus was on the main character who is a former psychic military officer who went in hiding as a secretary to a powerful conglomerate. This story is no different. Even at less than 100 pages the world building is detailed, the characters have depth,...
Great story. At first when I read about the psychers (psychics to you and me) on the bionet, I though of the Singh books. I still like Singh's shifters, but felt this book did much better with the bionet aspects
