I was wondering how things were going to go back and suspected it might be the most obvious way - and it was. Things had to get a lot worse before they'd get better, and there's an interesting time-travel type paradox that is glossed over (if things go back to the way they were before Vic got hold...

It's nice to get background on Thanos - but he's so much more fun when he's just this dude trying to kill everyone. I don't really need to know - or even care - about his awkward childhood. Not sure if I'll continue with this series, but I got the first issue for free on Comixology.

A really good taste of Batman with lots of delicious cameos. I squeed because three of my favorite Batman-related female characters are in this. I won't tell you which ones, but if you follow my DC Comics reading, you could probably guess. The artwork was beautiful and these were legitimate detectiv...

Angela is one of my new favorite characters, although that may be at least partly because of Serah. Serah is so amazing, and she loves, and is loved by, Angela. Perhaps more importantly, they work so well together, and against each other, that I can't help but love them for their interaction. ...

I did enjoy the series but there were moments when I wondered why certain things happened. I want to read the next set of stories to really make my mind up about it all but overall I found it very readable. Zatanna is an interesting character (though some of her costumes look more uncomfortable th...

Artwork gets upgraded but with the departure of Joss Whedon, the story takes a bit of a nose dive. Still fun, good-looking, and entertaining, but not what the first four volumes were by any means..

So Grant Morrison was raised by back issue bins. Here, he shows his upbringing by revisiting mostly forgotten characters from DC's past. The idea is to use seven mid-range characters in (mostly) new forms in a team book where there is no team. The characters won't meet, but they will have a common e...

I feel like this trade was kind of thrown together out of bits and pieces just to make a trade. I'm ok with that, because there's some really good stuff here. It starts with the Deadpool Family one shot, a series of short stories about the various members of the Deadpool Corps. It is, naturally, a m...

Really more like 3.5 stars, but I can't bring myself to bump it up to 4.Maybe I should have taken a break between reading Joss Whedon's excellent run on Astonishing X-Men before picking up anybody else's take. It may have helped. Now, if you put down the last Whedon volume and then immediately picke...

Don't go in looking for an overarching story arc. There isn't one, and there doesn't need to be. It's simply a collection of really good Batman stories, written mostly but not entirely by Paul Dini. There's the introduction of a new Ventriloquist, a continuation of the reformed Riddler arc, a newly ...
