The Sea Change & Other Stories - Helen Grant
The Old Knowledge and Other Strange Tales - Rosalie Parker
Swan River Press, Ireland

I'm all for supporting small press, independent press, and of course, self-published. Because despite the stigma of seeming 'amateur' or 'vanity', there are creators like myself who take book-making pretty darn seriously, and therefore, try the best to provide a quality product.

As you can see, Swan River Press is more than serious! Aren't those rows of hardback titles looking gorgeous? Gothic and horror publisher Swan River Press is in the running for an Arthur Guinness Grant. YOU CAN HELP by voting for them on this page!

Today we have to support our indy creators and businesses with crowd-sourcing like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. If you look at the latest JK Rowlings adventure with masking herself in order to publish a crime novel, it's pretty clear that mainstream entities are not going to gamble on every unknown person's wonderful vision or creation. This is why just ONE VOTE can make a difference, and you are not even spending $$ to do so.

I will probably remind us of this grant now and then until August 23rd, when voting has closed! Thank you all for helping in this competition!

The Swan River Press is Ireland's only press devoted to horror and the fantastic. As an independent publisher, we specialise in literature of the gothic, weird, strange, and supernatural, with an increasing emphasis on Ireland's past and present contributions to the genre.

Here are their titles and books, with limited run hardcovers and hand-sewn pamphlets: http://www.swanriverpress.ie/titles.html
