I haven't felt this way about a book in a while!
Heart-Shaped Box - Joe Hill

I actually wanted to read this book for so long! I was super excited when I saw my local library had stocked it in there EPUBs so I ordered it. So glad I did! Joe Hill has this amazing style of writing, he brings his characters to life. He honestly doesn't mess you around either he puts you straight into the story. It took me 2 days to read this book as I was so into it! And will probably be talking about it for a while.

So lets get to the story, then shall we?

It's a ghost story. It has an atmosphere to it, then literally sent chill's down my spine while reading. If you are shocked by abuse, then this book might not be for you. I have my limit's and I was pretty disturbed by some of the scenes and plots in this tale, Just a heads up.

I loved Jude Coyne the main Protagonist His morbid collecting I mean you could totally imagine rockstars collecting that kind of stuff!

If you like a really scary.. Then I really, really recommend this book. I'm sure you guy's no my style of review's i hate giving away the plot of book's but i know 100% you guy's will love this.

A very strange tale....
The Wicker Man - Robin Hardy,Anthony Shaffer

'Much has been said of the strumpets of yore
Of wenches and bawdy house queens by the score
But I sing of a baggage that we all adore,
The Landlord's Daughter . . . '

'. . . Her ale it is lively and strong to the taste
It is brewed with discretion and never with haste
You can have all you like
If you swear not to waste
The Landlord's Daughter . . .'

So this book, I remember watching brief clips of the film on channel 4 years ago, but never quite got round to getting the book, although The wicker man is a book I've wanted to get for my Book collection for ages I finally got it.

Took me really less than two days to read this it's a strange tale set in the isles of Scotland,

Neil Howie, a Scots police Sergeant and fine upstanding Christian fellow, receives an anonymous letter saying that a girl has gone missing on Summerisle, a small island only barely under Scot protection, thirty-eight miles west of the last of the Outer Hebrides. Howie goes out to investigate, and finds that, while all the inhabitants of the island are seemingly quite forthcoming with what they know (save the none of them acknowledge the missing girl so much as exists), Howie is torn between his desire to see the case through and his offence at the various heathen goings-on on the decidedly non-Christian island.

This book blew my mind quite frankly, and after watching the film again. I was highly impressed. It flows though a strange, surreal sort of way. And I'm not going to lie, I didn't like the main protagonist Neil Howie, I think the that the author just made him very dislikeable and prune like.

Give this a read some time it's one of those horror classics that Makes you think the end will stay with you for a long time.

The Dunfield Terror - William Meikle

I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is published by Darkfuse.

what isn't there to say about this book! it's quite possibly one of the best book's i've been given the delight to read! and i'm so thankful to darkfuse for letting me.

This is the first book i've ever read of "Willie Meikle" and i have to say i was very impressed. Now i understand why. The guy has pure talent to weave a tale!

I got the element of total Atmospheric horror. i love how it ficked from 1955 to present day, and the post war english accents. ((Yes i even heard the accents in my head!))

Willie Meikle is an author who knows what hes doing. and i can't wait to read more from him. If you love, Lovecraftian modern tales with a big dose of atmospheric feelings, this book is for you.

Willie Meikle and Darkfuse i salute you! <3

The Book of Lost Things - John Connolly

I have to Say I haven't read a book that I’ve been so enthralled With For a long time! And what with wedding plan's Underway. The wedding dress and the Groom's suit. Panic of my dates for my dress fitting and such larks, THIS book was just... Breath taking.

David is an English boy at the time of World War II. He has plenty of personal troubles. He is shattered by his mother’s death. He is angry at his father for marrying again. He refuses to accept his stepmother Rose and half-brother Georgie as part of his family. He takes refuge in books, ((I mean we all do sometimes.)) Especially fairy tales and myths. They speak to him with an intensity that becomes downright disturbing. It isn’t just the books on his own shelves that he hears whispering to him. He even hears the books in his psychiatrist’s office muttering, making possible a scene that makes me smile every time I remember it. He hears his dead mother’s voice calling to him. And now someone from his dreams, someone from the world inside the books in his bedroom, has come out into reality: the Crooked Man, who has some sinister plan in store for David and his brother. Then one night when the far-away bombardment of the Battle of Britain comes as close as David’s own backyard, the boy is swept into a world where history is made up of the dark underside of all your favorite fairy tales.

Irish author “John Connolly” Gives a distinctively dark and scary spin to many familiar old stories. Stories that you would recall from a kid. I've always wanted to track down the Real stories of the Grimm's and I was left wondering if John had told some of the Original Tale's. As they Were before Modern culture soften them for little ears.

I have to say I think I’ve found a new author to add to my absolutely Love Category! and I'm looking very forward to reading some of his other work's!

John Connolly As a Irish gal myself, I salute you for making this book a legend Gem!
