Evernight
Evernight - Kristen Callihan This was another really good book in this series. Both had appearances in the previous books. Holly is an elemental (human with fae heritage) and controls metal. She's an inventor for the SOS. Will is a sanguis demon (think vampire). In the previous book, both were kidnapped. Holly for her abilities and intelligence, Will as an experiment. Will was given a platinum heart and is now after Holly. I liked the twists and turns. I liked seeing Adam (the founder of the GIM) and look forward to his story which is next. The last book features Holly's "cousin" Sin (St John)- Daisy, Miranda, and Poppy's brother. I read this for Romance-opoly Coffee Shop I'm also using this for Ripped Bodice Summer Bingo violet eyes square (Queen Mab).

The Hook Up
The Hook Up (Game On Book 1) - Kristen Callihan

Drew is the star football player and so is super popular. He can have any woman he wants. Then he meets Anna. Anna who isn't impressed. And it appears she does not like him. Or does she?
I admit to being super confused (at least at first) at what Drew saw in Anna. He is interested, but Anna shots him down, multiple times. She eventually gives in and they have lots of sex. But, no kissing on the lips. Because that would be too personal. (Not making that up).
Then Feelings leading to Misunderstandings (by not talking). But then, Something Happens to Drew. This leads to Anna owning up to her issues and they talk. Then, it's Drew's turn to push Anna away. Anna's growth through the book shows in this moment. She stood up her herself, Drew, and they as couple. It was so nice.
But, really did I need all that drama? If some of it have been cut out (it really wasn't necessary) this would have been a better book. Gray's story is next.
I read this for Romance-opoly New View sun track
This also works for Ripped Bodice Bingo Summer 2020 for the "smells uniquely like themselves" square.
(Anna's describing Drew: "...because he smells fantastic—like warm pears and crisp air." and "...because I can smell Drew’s clean, tangy scent now."
Drew describing Anna: "...who smells of exotic spices, warm skin, and home."

Jump
Fall - Kristen Callihan

This is book #3, in the VIP series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and to fully understand the series, I recommend reading this series in order.

Jax is stunned from the moment he meets Stella.  He does not know why he is so attracted, but he thinks about her all the time.  Can he be what she needs to make a future?

Stella is surprised to meet Jax.  The attraction is mutual. She becomes his neighbor.  They meet up constantly and accidentally and the heat is sparking all over.

This story was more involved and a little dark.  I like how realistic it was about addiciton and depression.  These are hard subjects to tackle and I felt it was done well.  I liked reading about the characters falling.  It felt organic, real, and like I was in the room.  I enjoyed this read.  I give this a 5/5 Kitty's Book Spot!

Unforseen
Managed (VIP Book 2) - Kristen Callihan

This is book #2, in the VIP series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For understanding the series, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Sophie meets Gabriel on the airplane to a new job.  Only to find out he is basically her new boss.  Can she fight the attraction that is thrumming between them?

Gabriel AKA "Scottie" find himself annoyed, and then enchanted by Sophie.  She is getting under his skin quickly.  Is it even possible to resist at this point?

This book covered a subject we do not often see written so openly.  The loneliness that is felt by these characters in their lives is unexpected from an outside point of view, as they are both normally surrounded by others.  I liked the fresh approach.  I also liked the humor, the heat, and definitely loved the connection between the two main characters.  I enjoyed reading this and cannot wait to read the next installment to the great series.  I give this read a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Audio Review: Outmatched by: Samantha Young, Kristen Callihan, Narrated by Alex Kydd, Elizabeth Hart
Outmatched - Elizabeth Hart,Samantha Young,Kristen Callihan

Outmatched by Kristen Callihan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Parker Brown and Rhys Morgan are the stuff that romantic comedies are made off. Outmatched goes from from heartbreaker to heartwarming rather quickly in my book. Far from being perfect, Young and Callihan keep the laugh track going and emotions overflowing in a delightful sort of way. Despite a few bumps in the road, Outmatched came together to induce a heartgasm that never quite goes away.
