SYNOPSIS

It’s always harder to forgive yourself...

Against her better judgment, Kelsey Kennedy flies in for her high school reunion. Since her classmates are as cruel to her as when she last saw them on graduation day, she has no difficulty bailing on the event for the hotel bar. Only it’s there she comes face-to-face with the most painful part of her past.

And he doesn’t recognize her.

Taking full advantage of her anonymity, Kelsey gives herself one night with Rierson Perrault, the boy from her childhood dreams. Being no one's fool, she makes sure she’s gone the next morning before he can ask any questions.

Ry didn’t realize the woman he spent the night with was Kelsey. But when he puts it together, he’s sick at heart. He’s lost his chance to reconcile with her; the only reason he went to the reunion to begin with. Kicking himself for not figuring it out sooner, he returns home embittered.

When Kelsey and Ry meet again in the heart of New Orleans, will another fifteen years need to pass before they find the right words to say? Or will they finally listen to each other's hearts so their easy reunion can begin?

Easy ReunionEasy Reunion by Tracey Jerald
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

High School Reunion's can be fun or they can be devastating. Kelsey has returned to the scene of the crime as it were. Those around her in high school were cruel to the point of physical violence. She only came back because her best friend in the world thinks it will help her move on and let go.

Rierson AKA "Ry" was always the best looking in school. He was the only defender of her honor. Until the Graduation Day when he didn't. The biggest reason she never returned until now. When they see one another its explosive. In a different way.

Such an amazingly sweet, yet very hot story. The touchy subject of bullying is handled so well it moved me to tears. I was impressed with the dark subject matter, that I ended up loving the book anyway. The characters are so easy to fall for, and reading their reunion and eventual HEA makes it all worthwhile.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tracey Jerald knew she was meant to be a writer when she would re-write the ending of books in her head on her bike when she was a young girl growing up in southern Connecticut. It wasn’t long before she was typing alternate endings and extended epilogues “just for fun”.

After college in Florida, where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice swearing she saw things she’ll never quite believe and never quite forget, Tracey traded the world of law and order for IT.

Her work for a world-wide internet startup transferred her to Northern Virginia where she met her husband in what many call their own happily ever after. They have one son.

When she’s not busy with her family or writing, Tracey can be found in her home in north Florida drinking coffee, reading, training for a runDisney event, or feeding her addiction to HGTV.

Easy Reunion: A Boudreaux Universe Novel - Tracey Jerald

I give this read a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Revenge
Pretty Reckless - Grace L.C. Shen-Ong

Penn has much to blame on Daria.  After he helped her to shoo his sister away, he spends the next four years on ice.  Literally not feeling anything, until he sees her again.

Daria has been trying to be seen.  She is not seen or heard at home.  She gravitates toward the loners, even though she is part of the popular kids at school.  Her attraction to Penn is the only thing she really feels.

This dark romance was quite the surprise.  I felt all the feels.  I laughed, cried, and basically begged for mercy as I got closer to the end of the book.  This is a story full of very deep and rich characters.  I found myself spellbound by them and wondering what they would do next.  I think this was a great read.  I give this a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

That's What Frenemies Are For
That's What Frenemies Are For - Sophie Littlefield,Lauren Gershell

Let me start by saying that I usually like chick lit. Especially when it's witty and sharp, so I dove into this one hoping for an entertaining read. I mean, come on, it has the potential. The blurb sounded so promising, so I dove in, and it didn't take long for me to be ready to dive right back out. Don't get me wrong, the book does have its moments. I even chuckled a time or two. But - oh, yes, there's a but - I didn't find a single likable character in the bunch, and I couldn't relate to any of them. It's a whole lot of gossip and one-upsmanship, and a bunch of women who seem to care only about social status. Quite possibly, and most probably, this is just not the book for me. In fact, if you enjoy shows like Desperate Housewives, then you'll probably like this one more than I did. For me, it just felt like an incredibly long book that took a long time to get through.

Frenemies

by Nicole Blanchard

Publication Date: April 30, 2019

Genres: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Purchase: Apple Books | Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | Google Play

Dashiel Hampton is her enemy.

Layla Tate reminds herself of that fact every morning she goes to class and sees his smug face smirking up at her. There hasn’t been a moment they weren’t pitted against each other and she refuses to back down…not even when she learns he’s her new teaching assistant.

Layla Tate is going down.

There is nothing that makes Dash Hampton as happy as the look on Layla’s face when she realizes he’s won. He lives to drive her crazy because if he can’t have her beneath him, then he’ll have her any other way he can. He’ll get her to notice him, even if it means making her semester a living hell. When their classroom rivalry crosses the line between frenemies and forbidden, the hardest lesson they’ll have to learn is that sometimes you have to lose to win.

“I said I was a virgin, Dash, not that I was completely inexperienced.”

With that statement, Layla straddled me in one swift movement that had my eyes popping open and my hands settling on her hips. “What are you doing?”

She fitted her mouth to my neck, and I arched back, but there was nowhere to go. “You’re crazy if you think you aren’t good enough for anyone.”

Sweet mother of God, I could feel the heat of her through my jeans and the strain of my dick against my pants was going to send me to an early grave. “That’s a veritable compliment coming from you.”

“I’m pretty sure it was a compliment.” Her fingers begin mapping my shoulders, tracing my chest, and I wondered if I was in heaven or hell.

“I always knew you were sadistic,” I managed to say.

She let out a throaty giggle. “I think you’re masochistic because you sure seem to like it.”

My hands bit into her hips. “Oh, I like it, but you need to stop.”

Layla ground down onto my erection. “Are you sure?”

“Christ, Layla,” I bit out, then drove my fingers into her hair. I took her mouth with a violence that shocked the both of us. After a few moments, I broke it off. Breathing hard, I asked, “What do you want from me?” I wanted to tell her, take it, you can have whatever you want, but I didn’t think she was ready for that.

Frenemies (Friend Zone Series Book 2)Frenemies by Nicole Blanchard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book is #2, in the Friend Zone series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and have a better understanding of the series, I recommend reading it in order.

Layla has been competing with Dash for many years. Suddenly he is her instructor for a college course. Under other circumstances she may have had an alternative but this is forced upon her to graduate.

Dash has been attracted to Layla for some time. Her being upset and angry - he finds it hot. As her teacher he can't do anything about it. Not that she would let him. Only time will tell now.

This was kind of a punch to the gut right from the start. Everything happened so fast for the characters. The sparks are definitely flying. The series continues with some heat and angst.
