Book Review - My True Love by Melissa Foster
My True Love (The Steeles at Silver Island) - Melissa Foster
This has it all! Breathtaking hotness, emotions fighting for your heart, and so much fun and laughter, you are left with a wonderful warm glowing feeling after reading it!
Oh Grant, Grant, Grant!! I couldn't wait to read the story of this lonesome, grumpy man after meeting him in Tempted by Love and I couldn't have wished for a more pleasing character. He's found himself back in the close caring community of Silver Island, only this time he's come back from war as an amputee, and he wants none of the kindness that's surrounds him.  He's intense, full of pent up emotion, he feels lost with himself and his life, and has no direction to aim for, this is a whole new type of war for Grant to deal with. Only his long time friend and almost friend to lover Jules knows him better than he knows himself, as she starts her plan to soften the hardest of Grant's edges in her own unique fun loving way.
Jules had cancer battle when she was younger, but the story doesn't dwell on that fact. She is such a loving, caring character that lives in a cloud of happiness and is determined to sprinkle that happy magic dust wherever it is needed.  I liked how she wasn't portrayed as an annoying busy body, rather that she had a discreet way of planting a seed in to someones mind to give them that little loving push rather than making them run in the other direction.  She brought lots of fun to the pages and when she got excited she was so funny, she just blurts things out and can't even stop for a breath.
Melissa's writing brings this sensitive story to life for the reader, as both hero and heroine work through their problems so beautifully together. These two are the perfect match, so sweet and encouraging, and when it comes to the physical side of things OMG Melissa's writing has the images flying of the paper it's so enjoyably HOT and Grant is ALL MAN!!
Surrounded by some amazing Silver Island characters who feel very familiar, they seem to deepen the story with their strong bonds, friendships, family loyalty, and love. A incredibly beautiful, beautiful story that touches your heart as you read on, it blew me away!

Book review- Hot for Love (Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls) by Melissa Foster
Hot for Love – The Bradens & Montgomerys (Pleasant Hill – Oak Falls) - Melissa Foster
A beautiful story with beautiful characters from beginning to end that will capture your heart as you read.
I really enjoyed the storyline of cowgirl Trixie building a new therapy miniature horse business and the full support from her best friend and horse trainer Nick and everyone around them gave her to make it a success. Nick and Trixie have been great friends over the years and their attraction to each other has been growing yet neither one saying anything to the other. They are both such lovely characters but Nick is a hard nut to crack, he's sensitive and keeps his emotions deep, he likes his own space and way of life, but if anyone can give him the push he needs it's Trixie. In fact, Nick pretty much needs a push to realize his own feelings at times, along with portions of jealousy that works wonders. Once they get together the heat from the kitchen intensies throughout the story, and it's HOT!! My favorite part is when Nick decides to go public, well basically I loved all of book as if I was watching everything unfold right before my eyes, but that was powered by emotion that really struck with me.
Nick and Trixie have a special magic that warms you as you read, the surrounding characters and adorable animals bring even more enjoyment to the story, there's full on laughter, fun, sexiness and emotion to be had with this heartwarming and refreshing read from Melissa.

Book Review - The Gritty Truth by Melissa Foster
The Gritty Truth (The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Peaceful Harbor Book 7) - Melissa Foster
This was such a beautiful, and phenomenal story.  I enjoyed many moments smiling, laughing, melting with the heat, but Melissa absolutely broke me emotionally on more than one occasion with this. She took the wind out of my sails with the most emotion I've ever felt whilst reading a book.
Quincy has held a special place in my heart ever since meeting him and Tru in their traumatic story of Tru Blue. I thought I was prepared to relive his heartbreaking past and ready to take on whatever was going to come along but my heart felt like it had actually broke as I read certain scenes. This is now firmly planted forever as my #1 Top Melissa Foster read!  It can definitely be read as a standalone but I feel that there is a special connection to the characters that seeds from Tru Blue that brings even more feelings to this book.
I always love my time in the Whiskey world, it's always fun, people genuinely care about each other, no judgements are made and are everyone is so supportive, which is what Quincy, a recovering drug addict, needed more than most. He was in his second drug free year and doing really well, he had turned into such a genuine, caring and thoughtful guy, and he was falling hard for sexy dance teacher Roni, who also had her own traumatic history.  As we follow their story the author brings the beautiful excitement of fresh love to the pages, the giddiness, stolen glances, the innocence of kissing, drifting you back in time and bringing a smile to your face.
They have the ultimate connection and chemistry, but as things start to progress Quincy finds that he can not allow the relationship to strengthen until he has been totally honest with Roni about his past, even if it means delving into his mistakes he regrets on a daily basis and the possibility of losing Roni completely by scaring her off.  As you read, you could feel the sheer anguish, pain, and sadness, running off the pages, whilst remembering to tell yourself to breathe. It ripped my heart out listening to Quincy retell his heartbreaking and unthinkable past.  And even though we love Quincy now, imagining how Roni must have felt not knowing what to do with all this painful story.  She could be taking the biggest risk of her life.  It definitely makes you think about your own thoughts and how would you deal with the biggest decision of your life. What will Roni decide? And what will happen next?
After finishing the book I was an emotional wreck, it left me speechless with emotion as I sat thinking...I just...I can't...I just...I felt like I'd taken all the emotion I could.  I found myself writing to the author to try to express just an ounce of how I was feeling...
"I feel like an absolute wreck, I don’t think I could have take much more emotion, can’t get the words out, but phenomenal and beautiful is all I can say. I actually feel like my heart has broke. Thank you for being such an amazing writer xxx"
Phenomenal #1 Melissa Foster read!

A sexy new friends-to-lovers standalone!

Let me list the reasons why dating a sexy, charming, pro hockey star is a bad idea:
1. He’s one of my closest friends
2. All our friends are friends
3. The wounds I’ve got from past relationships go deep. And so do his.

We’re both devoutly single -- it’s just safer for the heart that way. But there’s no reason not to bid on the gorgeous, clever athlete at the charity auction this weekend. If I win, it’ll be a friendsdate.

And I do win.

I win him big.

And hard.

And all night long.

The trouble is . . . what happens in the morning?

Book Review - Tempted by Love by Melissa Foster
Tempted by Love: Jack "Jock" Steele (The Steeles at Silver Island Book 1) - Melissa Foster

Theirs was such a beautiful story to be told, their love felt so right and so real that it really moved me, and still does. Jock is in a heartbreaking dilemma of needing to let go of the past demons to enjoy the feelings he is learning to have for Daphne. When something feels really right you throw caution to the wind and go further than you every thought you could, to do whatever it takes to make it happen and that's exactly what happens with Jock. Daphne, a devoted single mom, doesn't believe she can possibly be beautiful in anyone's eyes but Jock is determined to make her believe she is the most precious person on earth. Swoon!

absolutely loved the banter between them, full of innuendos, and how they both felt so nervous not knowing how far to stray from friendly banter to something far more real. Melissa had me feeling every part of their emotion, the happy and the sad, they were so perfect together that it flew off the pages and embraced me as I read.
A great introduction to the new series and a new bunch of loveable characters to enjoy who amplified the cool, fun, welcoming vibe that the Bayside gang bring to a story. There's no forgetting the star of the show, adorable little Hadley, oh my, oh my, oh my, this little three year old completely stole my heart, she melted me everytime she called Jock 'Dock' and when she spent time with our Bayside canine Cosmos!
I honestly found myself smiling and laughing throughout the book, it was such an uplifting read. But then there was 'that' tension in the story ;-), which I actually found myself feeling really excited about, knowing that it would only be overcome by hitting the problem head on.
The impact from part of this story (I'm not putting in a spoiler sorry!!) was immense, it threw me off guard and took me a few moments to get back on track. This was such a moving romance with hard edges of life's problems to tackle, but once they were removed the full softness and beauty shone through and the glow actually stays with you even after you've finished.
