Quarrelsome Quartz by Mildred Abbot is the last book in my stack of cozy Corgi mysteries. I have enjoyed my time solving mysteries with Fred and Watson.

The Cozy Corgi Bookshop and Bakery is doing great and Fred’s twin sisters just opened the New Age shop right beside them. A big to do is planned for the opening, but…it’s Estes Park and things rarely goes as planned.

The shop fits into the small town of Estes Park, Colorado perfectly. We have an eclectic group of people that keep life interesting.

What’s that? Watson smells a….dead body…and they are on the case.

Hunky Sheriff Branson is still pining after Fred, though she has made it clear they are only friends. Fred doesn’t know what she wants when it comes to romance.

Sue, one of the cops, and Fred have an antagonistic relationship, but Chief Briggs, who she’d only had one other encounter with, fills her with fear. Could it stem from her father’s murder?

I love Watson and all his Corgi cuteness and it sure was nice to visit with him and Fred, and the rest of her family, for lots of chuckles and a light mystery. Being fairly new to Estes Park, each book brings Fred closer to her family.

AND, we have a lovely quiche to prepare and you may enjoy while reading.

Murdered by Words: Midwest Cozy Mystery Series by Dianne Harman is a fast reading cozy mystery. This is a change of pace for this author.

Kat Denham secretly writes as Sexy Cissy. She has a series of books called Lusty Women. I really enjoyed the story line & characters. I also enjoyed the recipes included.

There were a few typos that sneaked in. That's uncommon for this author. I gave it five stars because I read it in one sitting & I found it entertaining.

Carl Jennings the husband of Nancy, Kat's editor is introducing her at a country club function: "'It's good to have her back.'"

Kat couldn't believe the man smiling at her & saying those kind words was the same man who just a few minutes earlier had threatened to expose her if she didn't find a new editor.

She'd met Carl & occasionally seen him after she & Nancy became friends, but tonight she was seeing a side of him she'd never seen before."

I look forward to the continuation of this new series.

Marriage and Murder (Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery Series Book 4) by Dianne Harman is a charming, fun & fast cozy mystery to read.  I gave it five stars.  I enjoy the ongoing development of the relationship between Kelly, the owner of Kelly's Coffee Shop & Sheriff Mike. 

There are multiple suspects for the murder of Jesse, the owner of the local wine shop.  His sudden death cuts their honeymoon short.

When Mike & Kelly found Jesse's body, her reaction was intense.  "Kelly's legs started to buckle under her, & she felt faint.  She knelt on the floor & began to sob uncontrollably, tears running down her cheeks."

I received a complimentary kindle copy from Amazon.  This did not change my opinion for this review.

This extremely well-written cozy features Blanche, an African-American housekeeper, and how she becomes ensnared in the shenanigans of her ne'er do well employees. I absolutely love the down to earth wisdom of Blanche; she is not a saint but a thoroughly fleshed out character. I will definitely be reading more in this series.
