This paranormal reverse harem romantic serial is off to a great start. The characters are strong, compelling and easily capture readers’ attentions right from the start. The chemistry sizzles and the passion is hot while the romance is quite sweet. Harper tugs at readers’ heartstrings as this first part of the romance gives readers her beginnings and how she came to be where she is at and how she came to fall in love with Ian, her first love. The story is full of emotional turmoil and has some devastating events including betrayals, secrets, and outright lies which makes it hard put for any reader to remain emotionally detached from the characters and their story.

The plot is steady paced and covers lots of ground with the story starting off when Harper is a child with a very intense and traumatic event and the suspense just keeps building from there. The author created an intriguing world with a complimentary setting for her story which adds to the story arc and there are some surprising twists included in the story to keep readers wondering. So while there are a few minor drawbacks to the story, like the cliffhanger ending, the story fascinates readers and ensures that they want to know everything especially since the revealing of secrets during the conclusion builds up the suspense for the next part.

These two strong, captivating characters capture readers by their hearts and refuse to let go throughout this emotionally gripping romance full of depth, turmoil and a sweet bonding romance. This relationship between Cara and Noah is an uphill struggle on the sanest of days as both characters have some traumatic issues to deal with but the attraction between them steadily grows, pulling them closer and opening them up to the possibility of healing and moving on. The fast paced plot keeps readers biting their nails in anticipation of what will happen between Noah and Cara as they begin healing and overcoming their issues while the suspense builds throughout as well with secrets being uncovered, ones that just may destroy the fragile bond that draws them together. Another great werewolf romance in the Wolf Rivers series, it really tugs at heartstrings and ensures that readers want this couple to reach their happy ending.

Thrilling and anticipation building excitement keep readers glued to the pages as Jessen defies her father and decides to reach for her what her heart desires even while Lucius tries to deny what his dragon already knows as truth while Jessen’s family and jerk fiancé do their best to keep them apart. The story is fast paced and flows smoothly throughout introducing a very intriguing world full of hybrid dragons that make for a different kind of dragon read and while I feel that the story could have benefited from being a bit longer, I was quite taken with Lucius and Jessen’s story and I am looking forward to visiting this exciting world again.

Like the original review, this story really grabs readers’ attention from the very beginning as it starts off with a thrilling and intense scene and just keeps going from there in this fast paced plot that flows smoothly from one scene to the next. Natasha and Liam are strong, compelling characters that not only draws readers in but Liam has a bit of a mysterious air about him that really makes readers want to know of his secrets. Their romance is quite feisty as they fight their attraction for various reasons but the sizzling chemistry between them makes the attraction burn hotter and hotter.

There is lots of tension and thrilling suspense throughout the story as Natasha tries to start a new life in hiding but worry over her family makes it hard and making new friends while wondering at motivations makes it even more difficult. Then of course the bad situation that she was running from to begin with explodes in a spectacular way adding exhilarating action to the story. The added content makes this story flow more smoothly and gives the reader a better reading experience of an exciting story in a fascinating world that I can’t wait to visit again.

Misadventures of a Rookie by Toni Aleo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book #11, in the Misadventures series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To enjoy this fun series, I recommend reading all of the books. The order is not necessary, as they are all individual stand alone stories.

Gus and Bo literally run into one another on the ice. From the very moment they meet the sparks start to sizzle until the heat begins to build. They are both attracted to one another and even with their differences it is obvious right from the start.

Bo is sick of athletes who think they are a gift from God. She is not pleased with how Gus comes across. The past may prevent her from being happy if she can't learn to see him as himself and not the jerk who hurt her.

Lots of heat! This story begins with the sparks and just gets hotter from there. As these characters get to know one another things smooth out a little. There are even a few surprises thrown in to make it a little more interesting. I thought it was a fun read and a great add to the series.
