Review ~ Decent read
The Walking Dead Book Fifteen - Robert Kirkman

Book source ~ Library

Recent events have thrown Alexandria into turmoil, and now Rick, Dwight, Eugene and Negan all have something to prove. Meanwhile, a new world order awaits...

Collects THE WALKING DEAD #169-180.

Rebuilding time. And Eugene’s radio friend gives them the go ahead to come meet her community, so Rick sends a delegation. POV changes repeatedly as we follow Alexandria, Hilltop, Negan, Jesus & Aaron, and the delegation.

Oh, yeah. There’s no way this is going to end well. I’m getting so tired of this shit. Maybe I’ll read book 16 when it comes out. We’ll see.

Love the artwork
Gladstone's School For World Conquerors #1 - Armand Villavert Jr.,Mark Smith

*Book source ~ Free from NoiseTrade

From Goodreads:

Welcome to Gladstone''s School for World Conquerors, a top secret academy for the children of the world''s greatest super villains to learn the trade. Join us as Kid Nefarious, Mummy Girl, Martian Jones, Ghost Girl, and the infamous Skull brothers unearth the School''s and their parent''s hidden past.

Not a new concept, but still enjoyable. Reminds me of the movie Sky High except it’s for villains instead of heroes. The story is a bit shaky and kind of disjointed, but the art makes up for it. The colors are vibrant and I love the artwork. Seriously.

Book Nibbles #2
Revival, Vol. 2: Live Like You Mean It - Tim Seeley

*Book source ~ Library

Things are getting crazy in central Wisconsin where the dead have come back to life and returned to their everyday routine. No one knows what’s going on, but one thing is certain; as the government and religious institutions butt heads, the lockdown situation is about to explode.

Again, the concept is great and I love the artwork. However, it’s like watching a cartoon character’s legs spin in place while they try to run away. It’s not really going anywhere. Em is still unlikeable and Dana is clueless. A murder is solved but that’s about it. There’s still not a single clue, not one tiny crumb of info as to how this situation started and what the fuck is that white thing running around? I’m frustrated and unwilling to continue.

Book Nibbles #1
Revival, Vol. 1: You're Among Friends - Mark Englert,Mike Norton,Tim Seeley

*Book source ~ Library

Wausau, Wisconsin is ground zero for Revival Day. No one has any idea why the dead have come back to life and continued on their business like nothing happened. The county is in lockdown while the CDC checks to see if it’s contagious and Officer Dana Cypress, daughter to the Sheriff, has been put in charge of the R.C.A.T. (The Revitalized Citizen Arbitration Team) and she’ll be working with the CDC liaison, Ibrahaim Ramin. Between people getting an extreme case of cabin fever and nutcases wanting in to be healed by the Revivers, the police resources are stretched beyond thin. The last thing Dana needs is her little sister coming home from college with a secret. She begs Dana not to tell their dad she’s a Reviver and asks for Dana’s help in finding who murdered her. Can this situation get any worse? Don’t ask.

Great concept and I love the artwork. But there’s so much going on that I was kinda lost a lot of time. There are so many people tossed around that it’s confusing. Plus, I thought Em, Dana’s little sister, was gonna be kinda cool, but I actually can’t stand her. I have book 2, so I’ll continue on, but I’m not overly impressed with the story so far.

Ho-ly shit!
The Walking Dead Book 12 (Walking Dead (12 Stories)) - Cliff Rathburn,Charlie Adlard,Robert Kirkman

*Book source ~ Library

From Goodreads:

After Rick delivers Carl to Hilltop to start their new lives apart, a threat emerges from within the walker hordes that no one could expect. A threat that will leave readers speechless. Collects The Walking Dead #133-144.

So, Book Eleven had me going WTF at the end and Book Twelve delivers the answer. And what an answer it is. Holy shit! That’s just crazy! And crazy can be dangerous and so completely fucked up that you wonder how anyone would believe that shit. A favorite character is back and I’m happy. Negan is up to something and I’m not sure what. Some shit goes down involving Maggie. Can I just say, Wow? And Carl. *sigh* That kid causes more shit to happen, it’s ridiculous. But be prepared. A dozen people die at the end. Yes, I said a dozen. No one I truly cared about, but some of them are people that have been around for awhile. It’s totally and completely fucked up. I so cannot wait to see Rick’s reaction. Come on, Book Thirteen!
