Destroyed
Destroyed - Nicole Hewitt,L.A Starkey

So, I read Deceived recently, and while it didn't really live up to my expectations, the immersion in Greek mythology kept me reading into the second book, Destroyed. It takes up right where the first book ended, and it basically continues the story. Marcus and Nick are still fighting over Sam, but there might be a way to change the prophecy, if only they can stop fighting long enough to look for it.

This book took forever, or so it seemed. The pacing was really slow and when I'm looking back at what happened in this book, I thought it was not so much. What also didn't help was that to me it seems like Sam made up her mind about which brother she likes ages ago, so that is not exciting to read either. This series isn't really for me, so with Destroyed it will end for me.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Deceived
Deceived, - L.A Starkey

I feelt slightly 'deceived' as I was expecting something much more fantasy-like based on the cover. Instead, the story bottles down to two guys (who apparently share a soul) both fight for the favour of a girl, their soulmate, in order to become the sole possessor of said shared soul. So romantic, no?

It was a quick read, but I never really felt into it. Had I known the focus would be so much on the development of the romance, even though I think the motives of both guys are questionable, I would have maybe skipped it because that is really not something I usually like to read about. There is some immersion of Greek mythology, which will keep me reading into the second book, which I already have and will be reading soon.

Soul Keeper (Tales of the Citadel Book 1) by Viola Grace
Soul Keeper - Viola Grace
Zeyan has been banished by her own race and her talents have developed under the careful eye of the instructors at the Citadel. When a psychic plague breaks out that shatters the mind body connection, the locals call the Sector Guard and they, in turn, call the Soul Keeper. It is time for her to return home.

Orenn has envied his cousin Fenn’s life and love in the Sector Guard. As a telepath at the Citadel he recognizes a powerful will when he sees it and when Zeyan looks into his eyes, he also sees his future stretching before him, with her at his side.

He had no idea it was going to be the other way around.

Review

A great start to a wonderful Science Fiction Romance Series made up short stories that explore all kinds of aliens, cultures, and love.

I have been reading out of order and it has been good times for me. However, I think that reading in order would likely be more pleasurable if you don't have a fierce memory.

The heroine is wonderful as is the hero and the world building. Enjoy!

My Soul Keeper
My Soul Keeper - Ker Dukey This book was a little confusing for me, so many names and characthers changing. I loved Shamar and how he felt for Simone, and Lucas was deliciously dark.

With this book a pnr and a Ker Dukey book I was like I'm going adore this book! Many others have loved it and many more will I'm sure.

Soul Keeper (The Abrasax Chronicles)
Soul Keeper (The Abrasax Chronicles) - D... Soul Keeper (The Abrasax Chronicles) - Daniel Mickle Daniel Mickle has the ability to pen a great tale, his writing is fluid and the story is fast paced. Soul Keeper is a well written crisp book with a varied and interesting vocabulary. Some if the ideas are really unique and those parts of the story I found exciting. Though the premise is nothing like Harry Potter I couldn’t help but compare certain aspects of this story to that. Fire Place travel, fancy named broom used for sports, a powerful evil wizard whose name cannot be spoken by the White Witch and more besides! The story itself does not follow Harry Potter but I wish there weren’t so many similarities to it once the kids found out they were magical and went to train at the school, it took the edge off my enjoyment of the book.
