One of the most uncomfortable and hard to read books I've ever finished. Hopkins has no trouble uncovering the hidden and taboo and bringing it into full light. Tough to read, but even tougher to know that it actually takes place.

(For some reason, I have a habit of reading really emotionally intense books all at once. Maybe it's easier to...

Wow! I hesitated to join the Hopkins train but this was an incredible book. Heartbreaking. Graphic but tasteful, real and necessary. Beautifully written.

I have no idea why I kept reading this. I used to love Ellen Hopkins... not so much anymore. The story content wasn't so bad, I guess, but I would have been fine not having read this.

(Review originally posted on my livejournal account: http://intoyourlungs.livejournal.com/30953.html)Why I Read It: Back in 2007 I was a very sad and depressed person (for various reasons), thus I was a tad more angsty than most 17 year olds. It seems only fitting that I would discover Ellen Hopkins...

This is another great book from Ms. Hopkins that left me speechless. Not only did it give me a whole new insight, but it gave something new to think about. I never thought that sex trafficking as a big deal. After reading this book, I now realize that this is not talk about enough. As always, this bo...
