Middle School book club selection! This presents the mean side of the faerie world, which I nearly always enjoy. I'll be interested to see how the narration plays to the middle schoolers. The story itself is fast paced but the narration is very British and definitely reads like it comes from a shelt...

Before I read this book, I was actually afraid of it. I had been anticipating reading it for so long, that I built it up on a pedestal in my mind. This was a bad idea, but I couldn't help it. So I didn't want to read it because I was afraid it wouldn't live up to my expectations. That, and my luck w...

Goodreads Summary:No one else can see the evil fairies that rouse Tanya from her sleep, torturing her at the slightest mention of their existence, but they are as real to the 13-year-old as anything she's ever known. She cannot rid herself of them, nor can she ignore them. But it is her insistence o...

I'm about halfway through. So far this reminds me strongly of both The Field Guide and The Various. Good company. Yeah, I'm a sucker for a big old house at the center of a book, and a creepy woods nearby. It starts a little slow, but then, suddenly, new elements start coming at you: the odd compa...

Tanya has never felt comfortable at her grandmother's house, she has always felt that her grandmother doesn't want her there but she is also p...
A enjoyable dark faery story for middle-grade/ YA readers without some of the questionable content. Tense, intriguing read, with mystery and danger. It took me awhile to warm up to the characters and I still had issues with the MC at the end of the book, but I would definitely recommend it to others...
