The Golden Triangle is a tourist circuit in India, which connects the three cities of Agra, Jaipur and the national capital Delhi. It has been given the name because of the locations of the 3 cities with respect to each other, and is one of the most popular multi-city trips in the country (probably due to the proximity of the 3 cities.)

It is well connected via road as well as rail, and the entire circuit is around 720 km, each leg taking around 4 to 6 hours (the Delhi-Agra leg probably a lot less, because of the superhighway connecting the 2 cities.)

Apart from the 3 major destination cities that we’ll be talking about here, the ‘Golden Triangle’ route, also has a lot of other small places to stop by and experience a bit more, like the temples and palaces of Mathura, the hidden step wells of Rajasthan, and a lot more.

This is one of the many reasons that a road-trip covering the Golden Triangle is one of the best ways to see it all. If you’ve got a week or two to discover the Indian cities in the Northern Plains, this is one trip that I strongly urge you to take. And take my word, you won’t regret it, and would probably treasure the memories of the trip for the rest of your lives.

Do check other books on,
Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Gangtok, Darjeeling, Goa and many other cities in India.
