Stephen Hawking ( born 8 January 1942 ) is a British theoretical physicist, author, cosmologist and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the famous University of Cambridge. His works include a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of relativity, as well as the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation. Stephen was the first to set forth a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of quantum and relativity mechanics. He is a great supporter of the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.
