This set of six discs, one DVD-ROM and five DVD-Video, provides the most comprehensive text and video coverage available on the historic final planned mission of Shuttle Atlantis (OV-104) and her crew in May 2010. Atlantis launched on its final planned mission to deliver an Integrated Cargo Carrier and a Russian-built Mini Research Module to the International Space Station. STS-132 was the 32nd mission for Atlantis. Three spacewalks were conducted while Atlantis was docked to the orbiting laboratory. During the first EVA Garrett Reisman and Steve Bowen installed a spare antenna and a stowage platform. On the second spacewalk, Bowen and Mission Specialist Michael Good replaced batteries on the P6 Truss that store solar energy. Outside for the final spacewalk were Good and Reisman who replaced the last of the P6 Truss batteries and retrieved a power data grapple fixture for installation at a later date. Rassvet, the Russian-built Mini Research Module, was removed from the shuttle's payload bay and installed on the Zarya module. Reisman and Mission Specialist Piers Sellers operated the station's robotic arm, Canadarm2, during this process. Reisman and Sellers also maneuvered the Integrated Cargo Carrier from Atlantis into position on the station with Canadarm2. The cargo carrier provided a worksite for spacewalkers to store tools and gear. After seven days of docked operations, Atlantis undocked with Commander Ken Ham and Pilot Tony Antonelli at the shuttle's controls. STS-132 was cleared for landing in Florida on May 26, 2010 at 8:48 a.m. EDT. This was the 34th space shuttle mission to the ISS. FOUR DVD-VIDEO DISCS: This spectacular set of five DVD-Video discs presents over nine hours of high-quality, digital-source video of the historic mission of STS-132. These discs are designed to be played in regular DVD players (USA Region 1 format) and can also be viewed by most computer DVD drives. There are extensive views of the launch, including the SRB video replays; a short video history of the missions of Atlantis; coverage of the EVAs and flight day highlights, and full coverage of the landing (with unusually clear views of the returning orbiter on a bright Florida day) with alternate camera views, including infrared. DVD-ROM IMAGE AND DOCUMENT DISC: Over 1900 high, medium, and low digital images of preflight activities, crew training, and in-flight electronic still camera views of mission events, are presented in JPG format. Dozens of Shuttle and mission-specific documents are reproduced in Adobe Acrobat PDF format, including Mission Control status reports, in-flight messages to the crew, including "execute packages" and technical updates, Flight Data File checklists, and training manuals. There are 38 mission-related video clips in MOV and MPG formats. World Spaceflight News has covered spaceflight and the Space Shuttle program since 1983.
