by Rachel Aaron
Some truly great info in this book. Though Aaron describes herself as a very plot-centric writer, I think a lot of these techniques can be used to writers who prefer not to do a lot of heavy plotting (like me). Will definitely be experimenting with these techniques.
This petite gem of a book is packed with common sense advice about the writing process. It might just be the best book on process that I've read, and I definitely plan to try out some of the techniques that have worked to improve Aaron's process and productivity, in particular her method for editing...
A very helpful little book with some cogent advice on writing faster but still writing well. I would have given it five stars, except that it has a fairly large number of grammar and spelling errors (and missing words). Maybe the author didn't think such a short work was worth handing over to a prof...
I've been really worried about writing style today. I started writing when I was 13 and haven't stopped since. It's hard to deny that this is a career I've wanted and worked for. I've learned that there is a big difference between writing and writing well. 2k to 10k breaks down Aaron's solutions to ...
I'll come back and rate this after I've tried her methods for a few weeks.
This is the best book on practical writing tips I have ever read. I may have to change my star rating after implementing these concepts, but right now I feel really good about what I learned while reading this.

If you are, and you're a writer (wow, only two people still with your hands up - good for you!), you will probably find some good actionable advice from the 'system' Rachel Aaron has created. The system is, at its base, a 3 poi...
Conveys some very simple ideas that despite being simple may elude the writer. Ms. Aaron has a light touch, doesn't take herself too seriously, and has an easy manner about herself. Reading her writing is like having a conversation with a friend. Fun and informative. If I have one complaint it w...
I swear she is in my head...Great insight and hits all the right buttons to make this writer/geek/efficiency addict happy. Highly recommend.
