I've watched all episodes of the show through the end of season 6 so much of what is happening in this book is fairly recent on the show also. Maybe because of that, I noticed more of the differences between the show and book this go around or maybe the show just went in different directions from t...

As much as I welcomed this book on publication, I never read it again until now, and, it turns out, I retained only about half of it. I thought his continued struggle concerning his code of honour as the Lord Commander and his desire to help his family was really well portrayed. And there rea...

The good news? GRRM is back in fine form after the wayward fourth book. The simple reason for this is that he gets back to the characters and subplots that he abandoned in the last volume, so that we again get to enjoy the happenings of Tyrion and Daenerys while losing some of the dull and tragic st...
