PLEASE VISIT MY AUTHOR/ARTIST WEBSITE AT WWW.AESAMAAN.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION I am an author/artist/photographer. The various forms of art result in multiple ways of expression, which in turn inform and refine each other. I believe my photography informs my writing, and that my writing informs my art. I was educated as an Architect, and I minored in Latin American Studies in order to understand the history behind the various archeological sites I studied as an Architect. My interest in history likely comes from my ancestry. I am half Christian-Palestinian and half Hispanic from Central America. I am thus a child of the Cold War as the geography of my ancestry represents the epicenters of violence in the aftermath of WWII. However, my perspective is genuinely American as I have found that the ethics and morals of the founding of the United States serve as bedrock in a chaotic world. I find myself constantly turning back to the writings of the Founding Fathers for clarity and a foundation to depart from. Please visit www.AESamaan.com to see some of my architectural and archeological photography. I began photographing sites of architectural and archeological interest as this is a tradition in an Architectural education, but I soon found myself desiring to capture the emotional essence of these historically significant sites through the use of alternative photographic methods. InfraRed B&W photography became a quick favorite of mine. I began with InfraRed B&W during the days of film and transitioned this over to digital InfraRed. I soon found myself applying this technique to nature photography and artistic B&W nudes. You can see some of my InfraRed photography at: www.FloridaMyEden.com www.ShadesOfVanity.com My interest in WWII and The Holocaust naturally sprung from the interest in understanding the conflicts of my ancestry. My first book is From a "Race of Masters" to a "Master Race": 1949 to 1848 documents the 100 year trajectory of "scientific racism" from its early iterations in the American Civil War and Darwinism on to Hitler's attempt to create a "master race". I was luckily to come across several books, manuscripts, and boxes of correspondence from key historical figures that seem to have been overlooked by previous authors. Thus, "Race of Masters" offers truly new insight into this part of history, and the research seems to be enough to support at least 2 to 3 more books. Hopefully, mine won't become one of those insightful but forgotten books for some future researcher to find.
