This is a difficult book for me to rate. I thought the whole first three quarters of the book were rather uncompelling and overlong. The book really isn't that long, but the pages just seemed to drag on and it took me a long time to read since I wasn't at any point really dying to know what happened...

I enjoyed this book. The first 50 or so pages were great - really fun writing. The middle got a bit sloggy with her family, and I got tired of hearing how much she loved Dean. But there was much to like and I'd read her next.

This'll sound familiar: okay mystery, great writing, great characters. It's the equivalent of saying of an actor "I'd pay just to watch her read the phone book."
