While the artwork was beautiful and the story is the one we all know and love, I don't think graphic novels will ever really be my favorite. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful medium and I really enjoy the experience of having a beautiful drawing and some words convey a whole story, but my first l...

Up to where Danerys's maid says she's pregnant, I'm enjoying this version more than the books, and possibly more than the TV series.

I loved the visuals and I loved the different looks of the characters compared to the tv show. Will need to get ahold of the next volume as well. The foreword from George R. R. Martin was quite a good read as well with his little slips about comics vs graphic novels.

I really love the novel A Game of Thrones. The detail is amazing, the characters have depth, the world is expansive. The graphic novel doesn't include any of the stuff that really makes me love the story. Of course it doesn't, it edits down a story that normally knocks on the door of 1000 pages (abo...

I obviously love to immerse myself in things I enjoy. I loved A Game of Thrones, so I wanted to experience it in every way I could. That include watching the TV series (which I do enjoy) and reading the graphic novel. What’s great about these two adaptations is that they don’t feed off each other. I...

Man, when a story's good, it's just GOOD, you know? This adaptation of Martin's original novel has its flaws, certainly, but man did I ever get sucked in to it. Daniel Abraham has done a damn fine job getting the essential bits into these issues without making you miss anything he's left out. The ...

The first volume of the A Song of Ice and Fire graphic novel adaptations covers the first half of A Game of Thrones, the first book in the series. As Martin himself states in the intro, this is an adaptation of the book only, and has no relation to the HBO series (which is the shit). Actually, it so...

A solid adaptation, but I think the medium just doesn't lend itself as well to this story as it has some others. There are times the pacing feels rushed if you're familiar with the story. However, if you're a big fan, it's well worth it for the art alone, as the artist has rendered everything in lov...

More like a 3.5, but I erred on the higher side of 3.5 than the lower side. GRRM's books are brimming with information about the characters and the kingdom(s). I'd never read the series before watching the show, but as I'm going through them now (the books, I mean), I think the show did do an except...

Daniel Abraham’s adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones is beautifully and vividly illustrated by Tommy Patterson throughout the graphic novel’s 240 full color glossy pages. This interpretation of the first title* in the hugely popular fantasy series includes an introduction by Martin...
