Blackmail, cheating, and attempted murder. Not my idea of a love story. Sorry, but if someone tried to choke me to death I would hope I have the self esteem to walk away no matter how much I "loved" him.

Oh my! This very short story has so much wrong in it - cheating, blackmail, physical violence, coercion, and public outing. And yet it is written with Josh Lanyon's superior ability, making the characters, if not likeable, at least interesting.
A poignant short story. It is always amazing how much can be said and told in such a small space.
