Beautiful and terrifying. I didn't cry as most reviewers said they did but A Monster Calls tugged at my heartstrings and made me hug my kids a little bit closer.

What a wonderful novella! I was actually crying, reading this in the breakroom at work! A very short read, it only took me about an hour, but I couldn't have stopped if I tried.
