I really wanted to like this book. There are many gems and fascinating facts scattered throughout these chapters, but I really had a hard time slogging through the whole thing. Originally, these were a series of short essays and you can really tell - all the dense scientific information doesn't real...
I am obsessed with this book! A combination of random scientific/artistic/literary facts AND beautiful prose...sigh.
