The moment I read the date on the first page, I sighed and was disappointed. I don't like historicals, they're just so blech, but this was recommended to me, so I forged on. I can't believe it, somehow this weird historical, romance, fantasy tale kept me entrenched. I read the book in one evening, o...

For the past seven years, since she was but sixteen, Alyssa has served Lord Dillon, the Earl of Westcott, as his wisewoman and healer without the man being aware that 'tis not the wisewoman that had served his father and his father before him that hides under the umbral robes...Then, acting out of l...

A really good read! Great characters and concept. I love the disguise Alyssa had to wear in her role as Wise Woman to appear to be almost immortal. The ending was a little bit wishy washy, but happy.

DNF @ 35% This has to be one of the most clichéd and boring books I've ever read. The story starts with Alyssa, the Wisewoman's granddaughter who, at sixteen, believes herself madly in love with Lord Dillon, whom her grandmother serves. I know we're all familiar with love at first sight, but thi...
