I'm finally finished and just a wee bit sad. A Woman Entangled is the third book in the Blackshear Family series and also the weakest book in the series. I'm not exactly sure what it was that I didn't enjoy, the writing was as wonderful as the other two books but I guess I'm just not a fan of the ...

I think I was a little hard on this one at first. I've read all of Cecilia Grant's three books. So far they've all started slow and sometimes her writing style, while beautiful, takes a bit of getting used to. In her first two books, the characters made the slow start less noticeable. Both of thos...

After reading willaful's excellent review of this book, all I can say is - I completely agree with her assessment. The 2 main characters are not very likeable at the beginning of the story, but Cecilia Grant makes them so believable as they struggle with themselves to finally do the right thing, whi...

Cecilia Grant is a stupendous author. In her latest, A Woman Entangled, she proves this by taking a seemingly unlikable heroine and a downtrodden hero, placing them in an losing situation and making it all turn out beautifully.Kate Westbrook and her siblings are the products of a misalliance – their...

I have a soft spot for beautiful heroines who are well aware of their beauty and plan to leverage it. I've also got a soft spot for heroes who are pining away for the heroine from page one. Especially when you know there's more depth to her character than he realizes. So this was pretty much tailor-...

Lackluster characters. Kate does nothing but whinge about how she was "cheated" of her aristocratic birthright and how very, very beautiful she is. Nick does nothing but moon over Kate and how very, very beautiful she is. Blech. I love this author and am not ready to give up, but this is by far my l...

I enjoyed the subtlety of this novel, how the issues facing the H&H are, by our standards, more micro than macrocosm. Nonetheless, they are very real issues, particularly for the time in which the novel is set. This is the third novel by Ms. Grant that I've read, and I look forward to more from her ...
Eclectic Universe - Homeschooling Parent
First-rate writing, great characterization, good plot. Cecilia Grant is stretching the boundaries for a Regency romance, setting this tale among the barristers of London, with occasional forays into the upper crust and a brief visit lower. The moral of the story seems to be love triumphs over social...

Exquisite. Grant has done a terrific job giving her readers wonderful heartfelt characters to win your heart. A lovely read that I really enjoyed with great relish and will enjoy again in the very near future, a maddeningly sexy book. I can't wait to read more Cecilia Grant!
