An impressive tale of the Black Templars, led by Grimauldus, in their defense of the hive city Helsreach from a massive ork invasion. Aaron Dembski-Bowden writes these characters expertly, presenting them as a prominent Space Marine killing force against the orks, yet making them seem conflicted and...

Collection of Horus Heresy related short stories to somewhat further the Heresy timeline. The Iron Within and Savage Weapons stand out to me, but I do feel that some of the short stories could have been fleshed out to full length novels, leaving these feeling somewhat rushed and contrived. Another collection of outstanding Space Marines short stories by various excellent Warhammer 40K authors. The last story by Aaron Dembski-Bowden about Gaius Point really was the best one in this series.

Dark, gothic sci fi in the world of Warhammer 40,000.Grimaldus becomes the Reclusiarch of the Black Templars, only to be left with a token force in Hive Helsreach as it undergoes a massive Ork invasion. The author does a good job of using the inhumanity of both the Orks and Space Marines to bring out...
