For centuries, the people of Alera have relied on the power of the furies to protect them from outside invaders. But the gravest threat might be closer than they think.
Tavi has escaped the Calderon Valley and the mysterious attack of the Marat on his homeland. But he is far from safe, as trying to keep up the illusion of being a student while secretly training as one of the First Lord's spies is a dangerous game. Academ's Fury and its sequel, Cursor's Fury, are my two favourite books in the Codex Alera series. Academ's Fury was actu...
Still loads of incredulous action and reasoning. Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that in case of an Emperor's temporary unavailability, there SHOULD be some established chain of authority? Instead we are given some shady "can't strust nobody" excuses, just for the convenience of the Author, ...
704 pages... and I'm sad there aren't more.I'm surprised by how much I like this series - especially since I don't like Butcher's Dresden novels much. I like that the hero in this book is the only one in their world to doesn't have magical powers, but has to rely simply on his wits to survive.
