Adam Possamai is Professor of Sociology at Western Sydney University. He is Belgo-Australian and writes his academic work on contemporary religion in English and his fiction in French (see his profile on Amazon.fr). He is a former president of the Australian Association for the Study of Religion and of the Research Committee 22 on the sociology of religion (from the International Sociological Association). He is known, among other things, for having developed the new concept of hyper-real religion. He is currently Director of Research and Higher Degree Research in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology.
