The Shoemaker's Wife, by Adriana Trigiani (2012) I found this book to be nearly unreadable. The novel follows two young lovers from the Italian Alps who emigrated to the United States. They were both so goody-goody, that I got bored with reading about them. 2 Stars Read: October 10, 2016

I enjoyed my time with this book. The characters are original and the setting feels authentic. There's humor and tragedy and great southern charm. I'm definitely continuing the series.

The Supreme Macaroni Company called to me, both because it was by Adriana Trigiani and because of the Italian heritage I knew would run deep in it. I'm always fascinated by glimpses into the lives of others. I also love Trigiani's ability to bring a whole family, an entire clan of loving, swearing, ...

Her best friend Theodore is called that just because he wasn't born there. She has reason to feel even more of an ...

The Supreme Macaroni Company is bad. Valentine is pathetic in this third novel. The much-anticipated wedding is rushed in an effort to get the stresses of their new marriage, but therein lies much of the problem. Most people know that marriage is tough, and there is an adjustment period for all newl...

I found most of the stories uninspiring and only one of them had anything to do with a bookclub. Although the cause is worthy (Supporting Breast Cancer Care and they get extra in the score for that) I honestly only really enjoyed one story and that was the one that involved a bookclub. Mediocore a...

When I first started reading this, I thought, "Oh dread. Jane Austen fanfic." But then I tried a story or two (and then three or four) and found that this was rather well-done Austen fanfiction. My biggest criticism is that there weren't enough stories related to Sense and Sensibility. That said, I ...

Valentine Roncalli is a 33 year old Italian American living in Greenwich Village New York City with her Gram and is apprentice to the family’s custom wedding shoe company. This is the 2nd book I’ve read by Adriana Trigiani, and her writing makes me feel I really get to know her characters. I reveled...

it was cute - bordered a bit more on the teenage angst side of the house than the previous one - but not bad
