I'm not sure about this book. I did enjoy it, and some of the writing is sublime. But a significant proportion of it is long winded and for a time when minority groups weren't really treated that well, there seems to be very little by way of any bigotry experienced by Una, giving it near progressive...

This is basically Moby Dick fan fiction, with much of fan fiction's highest pleasures and one of it's most common problems. This book is about Nantucket, one of the most wondeful places on this earth! If you are one of the people who could NOT get through Moby Dick by Melville, here is the same story seen through the eyes of Ahab's wife. While Moby Dick is impossible to get through, this book you cannot put down! A wonde...

While I did enjoy the story, I didn't like the main character. i found her to be selfish and inconsiderate.
