Alan J. Porter is a writer of pop-culture reference books, high adventure fiction, and comics.He is the author of "BATMAN: The Unofficial Collectors Guide," (Schiffer Books), "BEFORE THEY WERE BEATLES: The Early Years 1956-1960," (Xlibris), JAMES BOND: the history of the illustrated 007," and "STAR TREK: A comics history." (both for Hermes Press.) he is currently working on THE JAMES BOND LEXICON. He has written short stories and novellas featuring characters such as Allan Quatermain, Sherlock Holmes, and Houdini, as well as his own pulp characters, The Raven and Lotus Ronin.
