Alejandro Moreno was born in Mexico City, Mexico (July 3, 1968). He studied at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, where he obtained a Ph.D in Political Science in 1997. He is a professor at ITAM (Mexico's Autonomous Technological Institute) and directs the public opinion polling department at Reforma newspaper, both in Mexico City. In addition to continuously conducting polls of the Mexican public, he also collaborates with international survey projects such as the World Values Survey, the Comparative National Election Project, and Latinobarometro. He and his wife, Christine, live about 60 miles south of Mexico City, where they usually have a clear view of the puffing volcano Popocatepetl. They have three children.
