Alex is a working mom of two boys and lives in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Kansas, Texas and the US Virgin Islands, Alex attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. A New Yorker for 14 years and counting, she spent 10 of those years working hard at two careers, graphic design and acting. After the birth of her two children, François and Johan, Alex left theatre in favor of expanding her design and retail operations career and went back to work full time for Victoria's Secret. Shortly thereafter she was cast on "The Real Housewives of New York City" on Bravo, the first two seasons of which she filmed while still working full time. With the economy in freefall, Alex was laid off in early 2009, and found a silver lining by going into business for herself. In addition to working with a number of retail clients and continuing to be part of Housewives, Alex blogs for BravoTV.com, the HuffingtonPost.com and Second Time Around.net. "Little Kids, Big City" (April 2010) is her first book, co-authored with her husband Simon van Kempen.
